What has six bottles, flutes, a drum, another Latin percussion instrument, keeps you on key and gets you drunk?  Yeah, I had no clue either… until I met Tuned Pale Ale (TBD).  An interesting take on your typically yummy pale ale brand.  I think at some point in our drunken stoopers we’ve all attempted to get the band back together by blowing half-dead whale sounds out of a bottle.  We may even have, on occasion, accidentally stumbled upon a great note… but then of course ran around the bar like a jack-ass making a fool out of ourselves for everyone to see.  So I’ve heard.

ANYWAY… Matt Braun (self-described as a “multidisciplinary designer, artist and DJ currently based in Philadelphia and looking to collaborate and work with like-minded people”) has fine tuned his musical drinking abilities into an incredibly unique set-up.  He describes his work as:

Tuned Pale Ale is a product that explores the musical affordances in everyday objects and promotes social spontaneity. While drinking beer, people become musically encouraged and often start making music with objects around them. This product aims to promote more of this type of social interaction. This product aims to inform users about the musical qualities of existing bottles and to make the bottle a better instrument.

He’s an artsy kinda guy isn’t he.  What we hope is a good tasting Ale (we’ll let you know as soon as it arrives), is at the least… a fun looking musical treat.  Hell, you can sip to the exact level of whatever note you want to toot away at… and have your bro accompany you with drums.  If anything, this seems like a backyard party gone very right.  Keep an eye out for this little gem… and we’ll let you know when it’s available for all!
