Introducing the Carbon Design Groups Domino Clock ($TBD).
A very cool way to take Grandpa’s favorite game of little black tiles with white dots and gracing your wall with larger than life versions of them. Ticking its way to an incredibly unique, and functional, design upgrade. Carbon Describes their gametastic clock as:
The concept is simple. Three larger-than-life dominoes are equipped with articulating “dots” that flip back-and-forth between black and white to keep time. They hang on the wall or stand free, communicating wirelessly as they quietly mark the passing hours and minutes. By subtly abstracting the idea of time, Carbon’s Domino Clock creates a more relaxing experience.
While this is still at the concept/prototype stage… it will start gracing the presence of design studio walls in early 2011, and I expect to see it available to the masses shortly after. A brilliant idea, and yet another way we see people take iconic images from days of yore and create a wonderful update to boring old has-been decorating standards. Not quite convinced?
