Nice “spin” on the numbers. The reality is that there are always more original screenplays and stories released in any given year (than sequels, remakes, adaptations, etc.). There’s a lot of creativity in Hollywood and the global film industry. All this page is proof of is where consumers voted the most with their money. Does everyone think pizza and burgers and Coca Cola are the most original foods in the world? (I hope not) they are just where the most dollars are spent. Companies don’t continue making something if they aren’t rewarded for it with boatloads of money. This is just proof the masses keep rewarding a small set of movie-makers for making the same thing. There are plenty of options to choose from for those that want something “original” (which is a lie, in and of itself, since everything is derivative in some way).
