It’s here… the final silver screen push of 2010.  The last chance for the mega-movie studios to snag up your hard-earned money before we all hibernate for the winter.

Spring is for feel-goods, light dramas & comedies… Summer is for big action and the kiddie stuff… and fall/winter is for the heavy dramas, inspirational, and of course the horror flicks.  Here are our choices for what we want to eat some Hot Tamales & Popcorn and get nice n’ comfortable with through the beginning of December… Christmas movies will, of course, be an entirely different animal we’ll write about later:

RED (Today) – Described as: Frank, Joe, Marvin, and Victoria used to be the CIA’s top agents — but the secrets they know just made them the Agency’s top targets. The Company Men (10/22) – Described as: Bobby Walker is living the American dream: great job, beautiful family, shiny Porsche in the garage. Due Date (11/5) – Described as: Peter Highman is an expectant first-time father whose wife’s due date is a mere five days away. As Peter hurries to catch a flight home from Atlanta to be at her side for the birth, his best intentions go completely awry when a chance encounter with aspiring actor Ethan Tremblay forces Peter to hitch a ride with Ethan–on what turns out to be a cross-country road trip that will ultimately destroy several cars, numerous friendships and Peter’s last nerve.  Watch the Trailer HERE

Unstoppable (11/12) – Described as: A veteran engineer and a young conductor try frantically to stop a half-mile-long freight train carrying enough combustible liquids and poisonous gas to wipe out a nearby city.  Watch the trailer HERE

Want to watch Scale – 9 of 10 (Hadn’t even heard of this one before catching it on Yahoo! movies.  Admitedly, I’m a sucker for great looking alien movies… and this one looks like it will really sink it slimy tentacles into me, Can’t wait!)

 

 

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 (11/19) – Described as: Harry, Ron and Hermione set out on their perilous mission to track down and destroy the secret to Voldemort’s immortality and destruction — the Horcruxes. Want to watch Scale – 10 of 10 (Ok, I’m a big ole fat Harry Potter dork and I’ll admit it!!!  I’ll likely sneak off and watch this all by myself at an 11am showing… and love every damn minute of it!!!)

Faster (11/24) – Described as: After 10 years in prison, Driver has a singular focus – to avenge the murder of his brother during the botched bank robbery that led to his imprisonment. Now a free man with a deadly to-do list in hand, he’s finally on his mission… but with two men on his trail – a veteran cop just days from retirement, and a young egocentric hitman with a flair for the art of killing and a newfound worthy opponent. Want to watch Scale – 8 of 10 (Rarely do things with Sam Rockwell and Hilary Swank  suck.  And I’m a sucker for a good true story.  I’ll probably miss it and have to rent it. )

Paranormal Activity 2 (10/22/10)- Described As:Spooky hauntings are once again the main course in this Paramount Pictures follow-up to Oren Peli’s wildly successful supernatural thriller, PARANORMAL ACTIVITY. Kip Williams directs from a script by Michael Perry. Trailer here..

Want to watch Scale -10 of 10 (I’m a sucker for a good scary movie and I loved the first one.  Will this one be as good as the first one? Of course not, scary sequels rarely are, but I’m a fan so why not? )

 

 

Saw 3D (10/29/10)- Described As: As a deadly battle rages over Jigsaw’s brutal legacy, a group of Jigsaw survivors gathers to seek the support of self-help guru and fellow survivor Bobby Dagen, a man whose own dark secrets unleash a new wave of terror…Trailer here..

Want to watch Scale -10 of 10- (I’m a fan of these movies.  Not because they are good, but simply because I want to see what level of gore they will take it to next.  And it’s in 3D.  And hopefully it will be the last one, they claim it will be. By the way, we teased you about it here.)

 

 

Burlesque (11/24/10)- Described As: Ali is a small-town girl with a big voice who escapes hardship and an uncertain future to follow her dreams to LA. After stumbling upon The Burlesque Lounge, a majestic but ailing theater that is home to an inspired musical revue, Ali lands a job as a cocktail waitress from Tess, the club’s proprietor and headliner. Burlesque’s outrageous costumes and bold choreography enrapture the young ingenue, who vows to perform there one day. Soon enough, Ali builds a friendship with a featured dancer, finds an enemy in a troubled, jealous performer, and garners the affection of Jack, a bartender and fellow musician. With the help of a sharp-witted stage manager and gender-bending host, Ali makes her way from the bar to the stage. Want to watch Scale -5 of 10- (Wait, let me explain..It has Kristen Bell and Christina Aguilera in it.  I’m secretly hoping this movie goes all Showgirl..As long as Cher doesn’t.  If you get my drift.)

True Grit (12/25/10)A spunky 14-year old girl sets out to avenge her father’s death with the help of an aging, drunken, one-eyed marshal. Trailer here..

Want to watch Scale -10 of 10-(I know this is technically a winter movie, but I’m as giddy as a school girl about it.  I always see a movie on Christmas, and have chosen this one as the one. By they way, we teased you here..)
