Today marks the 25th anniversary of the Challenger Shuttle Explosion. For many of us in Generation X, the images of this day are seared into our memories. Many of us can still recall where we were (for me, 3rd grade) when it happened. For a lot of us, this was our first glimpse into a national tragedy. Here is a great side-show of the event that is worth going through. It is a very somber look at the disaster, but a nice reminder of the sacrifices that have been made by people of our country to reach out beyond our planet to explore our universe. Our country lost seven great minds that day but their sacrifice helped pave the way for many more important missions for NASA and our country. The crew of the Challenger will forever by missed, but never forgotten.
