You know we love to Rock!

Today the 2011 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nominees were announced.  We thought we would take a look at them.

Alice Cooper:  This guy should be a shoe in.

The Beastie Boys:  These guys have been up before, their body of work is unquestionable.  They have dropped off the map in the past few years, but clearly are deserving.

Bon Jovi:  This one seems like a no brainer.  They rocked you in the 90’s and are still going strong after reinventing themselves a few years back.  For most of us, these guys are part of the soundtrack of our youths.

Chic:  I had to look up who the heck this is.   As we are not a fan of disco, we do not care if they get in.

Neil Diamond:  Be surprised if this guy doesn’t get in.  I can’t help but imagine my elderly aunt flashing her boobs at this guy.  But seriously, his body of work should make him an easy choice.

Donovan: Again had to look him up.  Never heard his music, but if he is nominated he is worthy of being there.

Dr. John:  New Orleans guitarist, you probably haven’t heard his stuff.  He did some songs with Clapton, so you might have.

J. Geils Band:  American Rock band that recorded the hit “Centerfold”.   You know the song that goes, “My blood runs cold, my memory has just been sold. My angel is the centerfold.  Angel is the centerfold.”

LL Cool J:  This guy is a pioneer.  Should get in at some point.

Darlene Love:  No clue.  But most of you will know her as Danny Glover’s wife in all four Lethal Weapons movies.

Laura Nyro: She was an american composer and songwriter.

Donna Summer:  “Mam, who is this queen of disco?”  Her inclusion seems like a formality

Joe Tex:  An American Soul Singer-Song Writer.

Tom Waits:  American Blues Singer-Song Writer

Chuck Willis:  was an American blues , rhythm and blues , and rock singer and songwriter.
