It’s been YYEEEAAARRRSSSSS since the last time I cracked open a phonebook. Yeah, yeah… I know… lot’s of people still use them, but I must be out of that demographical loop because I don’t. Hell, I’d even go as far as to say I detest the sight of them. So here’s my question… how can I keep that minimum wage earning yahoo from plopping that half-a-tree novel on my doorstep while I’m at work? Can anyone say “Hello…. environment!!!”. Weeelllllll, we just wouldn’t be the White Glossy Underground Board if we didn’t find a solution for you now would we.
YellowPagesOptOut.com is a completely free service put on by the Yellow Pages Association. You simply enter your zip code and it will give you all of the phone books delivered to your area, with phone numbers and individual opt-out weblinks. It’s incredibly easy… and takes a matter of minutes (literally minutes people). Think of all the squirrels, birdies, lovable animals and oxygen producing trees that have just blown you kisses through the air. Like you really need that phone book anyway? Computers, netbooks, cellphones, smartphones, etc etc etc… all much easier to use, and less harmful to the trees. If you absolutely must go old-school you can at least use this site to narrow your books down to one, instead of 3 or 4 separate providers. Once again, you can find the link HERE
