After much turmoil and wavering, the Hobbit has finally been given the ok. Peter Jackson has signed on to write and direct the two-part movie. As if anyone else could do it after he captured Middle Earth so well in the Lord of The Rings Trilogy.
The movie already has around 30 million dollars invested it and sets have already been built-in New Zealand where principal photography will take place. It’s a small drop in the bucket on what these movies will cost to make and will make at the box office.
Martin Freeman has been rumored to play Bilbo Baggins. As well as Sir Ian McKellan returning as Gandolf. Look for production to start this February.
The first installment is currently set to come out on December 19th, 2012. Yes, we are marking our Outlook calendars now.
