Yes, Dan Aykroyd (Ghostbusters, The Blues Brothers, Coneheads, My Stepmother is an Alien) has taken the leap that oh-so-few celebrity A-listers have… he is now making his own Vodka.  But, did Ole Danny-boy go the route of a glittery douched out bottle of potato juice?  Hell no!!  That’s just not the DanMan.  He instead took his vast knowledge of the occult, alien races, mystical Tales and all around weirdness to creat one of the most original pieces of art (with booze in it) that we’ve ever seen.

Enter Crystal Head Vodka ($45 – 750ml/$100 – 1.75ml).  I know what you’re thinking… “Crystal Skull like in the Indiana Jones movie?”… yup, one in the same.  Although Aykroyd gets his idea from the original lore which the movie was based on.  So Why Aykroyd, why Vodka, and why skulls?  Here’s a tidbit from their site to explain:

He is a renaissance man who is not only an accomplished actor, musician, & writer; he is a successful business person who has been involved with producing and distributing wine & spirits for the last 7 years. CHV is his latest venture and the one that he is most passionate about, because of his long time fascination with ghosts, spirits, and other un-worldly presences. In fact, it was his interest of the supernatural and the story of the 13 Crystal Skulls that inspired his creation of Crystal Head Vodka.

Head on over to the delightfully designed vodka’s home page HERE for a nice video by the Dan himself… explaining Who, What, Where, When… and of course… Why.  Worth a little desk-time, and you have our permission to check it out now.
