Assuming any of us are still here (Damn Mayans and all their doubt for the survival of the human race)… how many of you can say for certain where you’ll be on Friday, May 1st 2015?  You mean you don’t know where you’ll be in 988 days?  2 years, 8 months and 15 days?

Okay… understood.  Now, what if I tell you that one of the highest grossing movies of all time ($1.46 Billion), “The Avengers, made by the creators of the Happiest Place on Earth, Disney, have announced the release date of the mega-blockbuster’s sequel?  See where I’m going here?  And let’s just say that release date is May 1st, 2015?  Now do you know where you’ll be on that exceptionally anticipated Friday?  Yeah… thought so!!

As if Disney wasn’t already one of the greatest purveyors of the magic-sauce that creates  happiness… when they kicked off this new generation of comic-book-movies they brilliantly sealed their fates as pure entertainment genius.  The idea of buying their stocks are right up there with the wishes of “Wish I would have bought Microsoft… Apple… Starbucks… etc, back in the day before they were huge”.

I digress.  Marvel & Disney are ramping up to one truly unbelievable universe of movie excellence.  An excellence that is tingling the spines of every grown-up who was once a kid setting foot through the doors of a comic shop… or spent a few too many minutes flipping through the comic section of your local Barnes & Noble.  We’ve already been dazzled by Iron Man 1 & 2, Thor, Captain America, The Incredible Hulk (Norton’s… not that “other one”) and, most recently, the Avengers; now part two of the gauntlet is being tossed.

  1. Iron Man 3 – May 3, 2013
  2. Thor: The Dark World – Nov 8, 2013
  3. Captain America: The Winter Soldier – April 4, 2014
  4. Guardians of the Galaxy – Aug 1, 2014
  5. and now… the Avengers 2 – May 1, 2015.

Game on!
