Design by Humans… a pretty cool t-shirt design initiative that just might have the heart and ingenuity to last.
We’ve all seen the standard “Make you chuckle or think at a glance” shirts you pick up at those wacky novelty shops in the mall. They’re usually a little inappropriate for the mass public… but clever or amusing none-the-less.
But… what about those really cool t-shirts with the amazing design and artistic flare? Where the hell do people get those shirts? Answer: DesignByHumans.com ($15-$25)!!!!
Smart Fox & Samurai Warrior
First the obvious question… comfort. What’s the point of gathering a society of artists and asking them to design the best they possibly can without putting their art on the best canvas they can??? DBH understood this… and placed their most comfortable foot forward. Describing their materials:
All of DBH’s t-shirts are either 100% combed ring spun cotton or a 50/50 cotton-poly blend. The description on the detail page of each t-shirt in DBH’s store will indicate which type of t-shirt that particular design is printed on.
They truly are soft and easy to wear. And… as most of you are curious to know… it even washes up fantastically!! My “Samurai Warrior” ($20) shirt is a slim fit and hugged my bod perfectly out of the bag. Because it fit so great right away, naturally, I was worried that it would shrink and I’d look like a special man-child squeezed into something ridiculously too small after one washing. All worries were set aside immediately. Perfect fit not just after one… but 5-6 washings (to date). Also… practically no fading that I can tell. The pic to the right is after about a month or so of wearing to give you an idea of how it holds up (yes… along with my fav Sanuks).

That’s right… artists submit their works of art and the t-shirt wearing public gets to go online and VOTE for whom they feel earns the right to adorn the world. You can shop by design, artist and even by WHICH SHIRTS GET THE MOST VOTES!!!! Brilliant right!
