Today in San Francisco, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled his game-changer for the way we all communicate… called the “Modern Messaging System”.

After talking with the up-and-coming generation of tech-savvy High Schoolers Zuckerberg found out that they all consider email “too formal” and opted for a faster and more immediate type of communication.  So he jammed back to camp Facebook and put his tech wizards to work.

In a nutshell… Facebook is taking what we know as email and altering it for however we want to communicate.  SMS, Chat, a history of Facebook communications or email… all will be options for communicating through this new medium.  And it’s all maintained through their new “Social Inbox”.  As for this being a “new email”… everyone will be able to snag up an @facebook if they want one.  But you can also use your existing email address through their system.  It’s the best of all worlds combined into one place. They are even considering a VOIP option down the road.  “This is not an email killer. This is a messaging experience that includes email as one part of it,” Zuckerberg said. “This is the way that the future should work,” he continued.

Does your friend love to text, but you prefer to chat… here you go.  Do you prefer your mobile phone SMS but your mom prefers her email… here you go.  Does your girlfriend hook up with random on the side, but video-tape it and post it on Facebook for you to watch… Ummm.. what?  Whatever your preferences… Facebook just made the world a hundred times more efficient… and easier to communicate.  the next stop… world domination!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA… not that that’s a bad thing.

When you ask?  Expect this to slowly roll out over the next few months.  It’s not just a game changer for the world… but for Facebook as well.  With 15 engineers plugging away they are almost literally going back to the chalkboard with their entire setup.  Power to the People!!!  Via Facebook that is.
