Here’s a look at what is hitting the big screen this week…
No Strings Attached: Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman lend their talents to this one. Two friends decided to be come f*ckbuddies, and it a shocking twist that no one ever could see coming, they actually fall for each other. If you want to go see a good Natalie Portman movie, I’d recommend seeing Black Swan. (Which she won a much deserved Golden Globe for.) If you want to see a good Ashton Kutcher movie I’d recommend renting something with another actor in it.
Emma and Adam are life-long friends who almost ruin everything by having sex one morning. In order to protect their friendship, they make a pact to keep their relationship strictly “no strings attached.” “No strings” means no jealousy, no expectations, no fighting, no flowers, no baby voices. It means they can do whatever they want, whenever they want, in whatever public place they want, as long as they don’t fall in love. The question becomes — who’s going to fall first? And can their friendship survive?
Also out that might be worth seeing is the critically acclaimed movie The King’s Speech starring Colin Firth in his Golden Globe winning role.
George VI, also known as Bertie, reluctantly takes the throne of England when his brother, Edward, abdicates in 1936. The unprepared king turns to a radical speech therapist, Lionel Logue, to help overcome his nervous stutter and the two forge a friendship.
