Here’s a look at what is hitting the theaters this week.
Devil: Ah yeah, you can tell it is getting close to Halloween, cause the scary movies are hitting! The Story is by M. Night Shyamalan, but he didn’t direct. Terror ensues for a group stuck in an elevator. With a tag line of, “Bad things happen for a reason”. What could go wrong? Could it be, I don’t know maybe….Satan??
The Town: Ben Affleck directs this gritty, Boston-based crime thriller. Of all the movies that are coming out, this one is one to be excited about. Co-star Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) lends his talents to this movie that has been compared to The Departed by critics.
The Dry Land: This movie is about a returning Iraq vet dealing with his experiences in war. Possible renter, just because there has been a lot of movies like this recently.
Easy A: This one has the hot chick from Super Bad (Emma Stone) in it. As she deals with the hijinks of lying about losing her virginity in highschool in this movie that parallels The Scarlet Letter.
Alpha and Omega: Something to take the kids to see, this animated flick is about a couple of wolves trying to get back to their pack. It’s out in 3D as well..
Here’s a look at what we have at home this weekend via Netflix..
Eggshellwhite:
True Blood, Season 2, Disc 3: This season is so much better than last season. And it has a lot of nudity and vampires in it as well.
Green Zone: Matt Damian returns to his kick ass role in this film about WMD’s in Iraq. Even Hollywood is looking for them still. Directed by Paul Greengrass, who did the Bourne Ultimatum and the Bourne Supremacy, as well as United 93. I’m really looking forward to cranking up the surround sound for this one.
WhiteGlossy:
Repo Men: Jude Law & Forest Whitaker (both of which I’m a big fan) come together for a Sci-Fi romp with a fairly original plot idea (which is rare these days). Set in the near future when artificial organs can be bought on credit, it revolves around a man who struggles to make the payments on a heart he has purchased. Twist and turns are sure to ensue… I predict I will enjoy the ride.
