If your answer was anything like mine an angel just lost their wings.

What if we told you the $30 was for a movie that just left the theaters and wasn’t out on video yet?  A few of the big movie houses are hoping you’ll say “YES”!  Sony Pictures, Warner Brothers & Disney are all in discussions to potentially offer this very idea to the big daddy’s of the cable world.

This idea reminds me of back in the day when a friend on the block would order some brand new PPV movie and we would all pay a couple of bucks to see it (which included popcorn, soda & a walk home from his mom).  Then fast-forward about 15 yrs and we did the same thing with that European Tyson fight, but it was BYOB and I “went home” with your Mom (boo-yah!).

However you spin it… with surround sound systems, 6ft HD 3D TVs and ridiculous home theater setups… I can see potential.  Now You figure a movie for 4 people (not including snacks) will run you around $40… so $30 to watch it at home, in HD, with a beer and some oven-made pizza… it could absolutely work.  I don’t see this as a game changer… but it will for sure mix things up.
