Okay, so Eggshell just explained to me that “humpday” actually mean the middle day of the week… getting of the proverbial “hump”. All this time I thought it meant that Wed was the day everyone called in sick and stayed home humping. Well… my apologies to all of those jobs I’ve had in the past (which actually explains why they were always so pissed), and you’re welcome to all of those girls I’ve dated. Hell… I think we’re onto something here! Let’s change this stupid saying people! Let’s make Humpday a real humpday!!!! If you’re at work… grab that sexy superfreak in the cubicle next to you and find an empty office somewhere. if you’re at home… hell, you have no reason for this not to be humpday already! If you’re all alone… well, it’s not like that every stopped you before!
But when you’re all done and ready to spend some time with us again (in what… 4-5 minutes?), let’s amp up your energy with a little of your favorite Hollywood Crack!
American Idol: On the 19th of this month AI will kick off the beginning of its 10th season. 10 seasons!!! Can you believe it’s really been that long!?!? Think about it… people in their late teens and early 20’s don’t have a memory of television without American Idol. It’s has truly become a staple of American television. I won’t go into detail about all of the new and exciting things to look forward to this season since we’ve covered it extensively up to this point (check it all out HERE), but we are excited. Legends of the Rock world, and JLo’s ass will all be present and accounted for starting Jan 19… and we’ll be tuned it. As for the formatting of the show… reports have been all over the place depending on which website you read. Which means either they can’t get their minds straight at camp FOX, or they are purposely confusing everyone so you’ll all tune in to see what’s really happening. Either way… yippee!!! (said in my straightest, most manly kind of voice)
LeAnn Rimes: I know we just recently talked about her engagement last week (HERE) but now there’s more Rimes news. In short… Somebody Got A Boob job!!!! Is there really much more to say? New Boobies pretty much knocks it outta the park. This picture really is worth 1,000 words.
Pete Postlethwaite: The saddest part about this giant amongst the Hollywood elite is that it took his death for me to actually know his name! Easily one of the most recognizable actors in hollywood, Pete was a man whose dynamic presence almost demanded your attention. His parts were almost always secondary to the leading role, but he nearly always stole the scene. “The Usual Suspects”, “The Lost World: Jurassic Park”, “Amistad”, “Inception” & “The Town” just to name a few of the flicks his was in. I can almost guarantee you remember his exact role in each one! Hell he was even described by director Steven Spielberg as “probably the best actor in the world today.” Bummed to hear he’s gone!
Sean Penn: Man of Love? Yup! To take the story I found on the Hollywood Report and attempt to repost my thoughts on it would be, quite simply, a tragedy to the awesomeness behind it. So… I’ll simply say that many of America’s Hollywood elite are serious about helping Haiti… and not just in a charitable fundraising kind of way (not that there is anything at all wrong with that as well!). For the entire story I highly suggest checking it out HERE.
Live To Dance: Last night was the premiere of Paula Abdul’s new dance show “Live to Dance”. I’m sorry… I really tried to watch this and just couldn’t. Hell, just writing this right now makes me want to vomit in my mouth a little. So I’m done.
The Cape: So, this Sunday is the premiere of NBC’s newest primetime offering “The Cape“. Are we excited to see it…. hmmmmm, no. Will we tune in and give it a chance… of course! We are geeks at heart and are always at least a little excited to see a new comic book-esque show pop up. We ran across a pretty cool marketing campaign they are pulling off in NY too! Apparently NBC (in conjunction with the NYC Parks & Rec department) has put capes on statues all over the city. Statues including those of George Washington & William Shakespeare. There are of course little plaques explaining the awesome traits of the statues real-life personalities (wouldn’t want to offend anyone would we). In my opinion… marketing at some of it’s best!
Alec Baldwin: Politician? Mr. Baldwin hasn’t exactly been quiet about his love for politics over the years… but apparently he is finally to the point of making it an official public statement. In an interview on CNN’s Parker Spiter that aired Tuesday night he said:
I do believe that people want to believe that someone who deeply cares about the middle class … would like to seek public office.
We’ve had men who are Ivy League-groomed running this country since 1988. We’ve had 22 years of Yale and Harvard, and the problems aren’t getting solved.
He also went on to say he’d find it difficult to leave New York and give up his acting career. Is this something we’ll see him do in the near future? Hard to tell. Either way, he’d be fun to watch!
