First off, Audyssey has the coolest names for their stuff right? But it doesn’t stop there, they back up the cool names with jaw dropping, ear popping, audiophilegasam delights that are designed to jump through space and time, penetrate your ear drum and tickle your cerebellum with their sheer awe-inspiring awesomeness. It is hard to really call these bad boys computer speakers. I mean sure, you could set them up on your desk with your laptop or desktop and only fire them up when you are sitting there doing whatever the hell it is you do in front of your computer. But that would be a drastic waste of these awesome bad boys.
The Audyssey Lower East Side Media Speakers ($199) are dubbed as the first speaker of its kind to not only have the 3.5mm output, but also digital optical audio inputs.
Use them with just about any playback device: computers, Apple TVs, Blu-ray players, iPhone models or MP3 players. Wherever you want your movies and music to sound better, just add the Lower East Side Speakers.
Oh sure, a big claim right? But these speakers are not all talk, they truly have some great sound to them. I think we can all agree that usually speakers in the size just don’t have the deepness to their sound like full size speakers can. THe Lower East Side channels bass like it’s a tricked out whip with a trunk full of woofers. But have no fear, the bass doesn’t overpower the mids and the lows. These little speakers have the balance of an Olympic gymnast.
Review: Awesomeness… I mean, Audyssey South of Market Audio Dock
Want portability, you got it. These speakers are very portable with just a few wires. You can move them room to room without too much trouble. Move them to the deck to add some tunes to the BBQ. Swing them by the bedroom for some better sounding romantic music. Shoot, hook them up to the TV and take your movies to the next level. I personally tried these in multiple rooms of the house and they have such great sound that they will blow you out of a small room, but still have the power to fill up a large room with enough sound that you don’t have to strain to listen to them.
So what’s the rub on these speakers? Sure there is the price, which for your everyday person might not be the best. But these are not made for the everyday person. These are for people who spend time in front of their computer either listening to music, watching movies, or playing games and want something to move around with ease and use with multiple devices. Frankly, if you are one of those people, you now really can’t do much better then the Lower East Side Speakers. Same Audyssey quality and sound, in a very small and portable package.
how do they sound compared to the south of market audio dock?
the SoMa really impressed me a lot, i only ordered it to have a listen but actually kept it and am going to sell my old HK go+play boombox instead.
here my review in german:

I would honestly say… pretty damn comparable. It’s a different set-up completely with 2 separate speakers… so it’s difficult to really say it’s better/worse. but overall, the quality is simpatico with the badassery that is the SOMA. if you’re looking for some unparalleled desktop computer… then look no further.
