Just announced at the Tokyo Game Show today, Sony plans on releasing a firmware update on 09/21/10 that will make your PS3 able to play 3D discs. 
Not that there are many 3D Blu-ray movies out, but Sony is hoping that with over 38 million loyal PS3 owners getting the update that will help spurn the market a bit.
