Yes, you may ream me for the horrible title to the blog… moving on!

6 months-ish ago I was in need of a bad-ass, single-handed use, knife for (what we’ll call for the purposed of this review) a “camping trip”.  I’ve seen everything from the $1.99 flip knife at your local auto-parts store to some kind of rejected futuristic alien-race battle shiv (Hell of a time at cutlery-world)… so, the research cap was put on, and I went to task.  What I found is a solid gem of a knife maker named Gerber that’s been around since the late 30’s, with a pretty sick slogan “Live by the Rules. Your Own.” These guys sell several different types of knives, work tools, nearly indestructible flashlights and a slew of gear… all worth drooling over HERE.

Back to knives – after looooooots of reading I settled comfortably into the AO F.A.S.T. 3.o ($75) mostly because of the blade… but also because of the bonus features, that’s right “Bonus Features”.  Like a freakin BOTTLE OPENER!  Perfectly designed backpack/belt clip… and honestly overall awesomeness.

After actually using it for quite a while now, for all of my “camping”, I have to say that I don’t really like it.  I LOVE IT!!!!  It will probably be the last knife I will ever need to buy… and if I do lose it, fuck yes I will buy another of the exact same (I say “Lose it” because they carry a lifetime warranty bitches).  It’s dope… and very easy to use.

Final Word: buy it jackass.  But be careful, its sharp!

Here’s how Gerber describes it:
